In once of the exciting matches of Dharmender Singh Memorial Tournament, Delhi Gymkhana held their nerve and broke the 3 match winning streak of Ekta Club, defeating them by 3 wickets and gaining important points.
Batting first, Ekta Club were reduced to 18/4 at one stage but recovered well to post 182 run on the board thanks to Himanshu‘s well made 64 runs. Four bowlers- Ravi, Shekhar, Vikay & Arjun picked up 2 wickets each.
In reply, Delhi Gymkhana lost opener Vikas for a duck but other opener Saurav Nautiyal held the innings together scoring 67 runs. But other batsmen could not stay at the crease for long and soon the scoreboard read 120/7. But Sartaj Singh (46*, 57 balls) showed nerves of steel and helped his team cross the line by knocking off the required runs and in the process breaking Ekta Club’s winning streak.
