Dhruv Shorey & Pulkit Narang script close fought victory for Friends Cricket Club in Goswami Ganesh Dutt Memorial Tournament

With the help of good knock by Dhruv Shorey (64, 6×4 2×6 b74) and all-round show by Pulkit Narang ( 28, 3/28), Friends Cricket Club moved into PQF round of 43rd All India Goswami Ganesh Dutt Memorial Cricket Tournament as they defeated Rampal Cricket Academy (RPCA) by 5 runs in closely finished low scoring first round match, played at SGTB Khasa College Ground.

Match Summary:

Friends Cricket Club skipper Mayank Sidhana  won the toss and elected to bat first. Friends CC, after losing 5 wickets for 53 runs, managed only 157/9 in 40 overs. Major contributors were Dhruv Shorey 68 and Pulkit Narang 28. They added 71 runs for the 7th wickets in 13 overs. Young left arm spinner Raunak Parihar bowled well and took 4/19 in 8 overs while pacer Rohit Dubey took 2/28.

In reply, Ram Pal Cricket Academy (RPCA) failed to reach the target and were all out for 152 runs in 37.3 overs and lost the match by 5 runs. At one stage RPCA were at 119 for 5 in 25 overs but later failed to face the spin attack of  Pulkit Narang and Sonu Rathi and were all out for 152 runs. Mayank Raghav (33, 6×4 b32) and Rahul Dalal 52 ( 4×4 b64) played some good innings for RPCA. Off spinner Pulkit Narang bowled well and took 3/28 in 8 overs while Sonu Rathi also bowled well and took 3/20. Left arm spinner Ashish Suhag took 2/22
