With the help fine all round display by Vaibhav Desh Pandey (73*, 6×4 2×6 b60) and 4/35 and good bowling by right arm spinner Karam Vir Gogia 4/23, Madras Cricket Club moved into QF round of 43rd All India Goswami Ganesh Dutt Memorial Cricket Tournament 2016 as they easily defeated Ghaziabad Cricket Association by 7 wickets in PQF round match, played at SGTB Khalsa College Ground.

Ghaziabad Cricket Association skipper Gaurav Tomar won the toss and elected to bat first. GCA scored 157 runs before being all out in 37.5 overs. At one stage they were 62 for 5 in 14.5 overs. Except opener Shubham Chauhan none of their batsman could face the spin attack of Madras Cricket Club and were shot out for 157 runs. Shubham Chauhan remained not out with 76 runs with six boundaries in 99 balls. Off spinner Karam Vir Gogia bowled well and took 4/23 in 7 overs. Another spinner Vaibhav Desh Pandey also bowled well and took 4/35.
In reply Madras Cricket Club scored the needed 158 runs with the help of unbeaten 4th wicket partnership of 124 between Vaibhav Desh Pandey 73* and Vikramjeet 63* in 21.2 overs by losing 3 wickets. Madras Club lost first three batsman including skipper Punit Bisht at 39 runs. Vishal Chaudhary took 2 wickets for GCA and Ishaan Makkar took 1/15.
