Sporting Club beats Collage Sports by 4 wickets; enters S-F of Goswami Ganesh Dutt Memorial

Sensible batting by Vikas Hathawala ( 52 not out and 1 for 29) and deadly bowling by Mayank Dagar ( 4 for 39) and Yogesh Kumar ( 4 for 35) helped Sporting Cricket Club defeat Collage Sports by 4 wickets and move into semi final of 43rd All India Goswami Ganesh Dutt Memorial Tournament 2016. The match was played at SGTB Khalsa College Ground.

Match Summary:

Sporting Cricket Club skipper Vision Panchal won the toss and elected to field first. Collage sports Club scored 196 runs with the help of some good batting by Shivam Chaudhary ( 51 6×4 b61), Shivam Singh 27 not out and Sohrab Dhaliwal 20 before being all out on the last ball of the 40th over. India Under 19 World Cup left arm spinner Mayank Dagar bowled smartly and took 4/39 in 8 overs. Right arm off spinner Yogesh Kumar also bowled well and took 4/35 in 8 overs for Sporting Cricket Club.

In reply Sporting Cricket  Club after losing 3 wickets at 59 runs overhauled the target of 196 runs with a six in the 35th over by losing 6 wickets. Collage Boys dropped a lot of catches that cost them the game. Rahul Tyagi (31 ,4×4 b39), Ajmer Singh (35, 3×4 b39), Vikas Hathawala 52 not out ( 2×4 2×6 b67), Lalit Yadav 29 ( 1×4 1×6 b30) and Vision Panchal 26 not out ( 3×4 2×6 b13) batted well and help their side reach the target. Delhi left arm spinner Varun Sood took 3/21 and Arun Chaprana captured 2 wickets.
